What it means to be a Trainee with Little Learning School

Adriana and Jasmine started their traineeships in October 2017 at the newly opened Sandringham centre. They were both in the first month of their Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care.

They were both surprised at how quickly they fit into “The Family” with Co-Educators and Management. Their Centre Director, 2IC and Co-Educators were great when helping with their studies and in practice on a daily basis and encouraged their learning by explaining what they were doing within the rooms and why, which really supported the course work.

Being trainees at Little Learning School Sandringham has been an excellent experience to date – it has allowed them to branch out and be exposed to other aspects within the company such as building community connections through local area marketing and developing relationships with the children and families.

Since signing up for traineeships, they have started documenting children’s learning, leading and assisting with experiences within our rooms, setting up play spaces and safety training. They couldn’t ask for a more positive environment, the support and encouragement that is given every-day is amazing and the learning experiences are truly priceless.

Sandringham’s Centre Director, Amy, stated that having Adriana and Jasmine as part of the team has been fantastic due to their willingness to learn and their natural abilities and versatility. Having the two trainees in the team has also allowed the other Educators the opportunity to extend their mentoring skills and to share their knowledge and experience as well.
